Refiner’s Fire . . .

Insights from the coast still linger from a recent trip to Holden Beach, NC. The vastness of God’s nature is wider and deeper than the oceans’ combined volume. That is saying something. When we consider the vast reaches of God’s love and mercy, where can we go that it does not reach? When we consider the details of the creation by God’s hand, who can fathom its details? When we realize the depths and details of God’s creativity that exist inside each human being, how marvelous are His works? God the creator, creates, small and big . . . He creates.

God the redeemer restores the beauty of His nature just as the waves restore the fresh unspoiled beauty of the sea shore. Mercy and forgiveness from God acts like the washing of the seashores from all disturbances until the smooth sands once again border the ocean. The canvass of sand awaits the gentle play of the children who will inhabit the great sand box.

God is also one who fulfills. Sitting along the shore opens you up to the fulfillment of God in your heart. His ‘still small voice’ penetrates the rhythm of the ocean to say He loves us still.

What a wondrous love this is!!
